Often potential students ask me “how many lessons will I need to take?” Or, “Listen to my voice and tell me how often I need to come”. But because the lessons are so individualized there is no set number of lessons to take. As you become more advanced you can certainly take fewer lessons. However even the professionals continue to take lessons on a regular basis to keep their voices in the best shape possible. Private Lessons Private lessons are conducted at my home studio in Lancaster Tx. They are one-one one voice lessons specifically geared and designed around your unique vocal requirements. We begin your first lesson with a little chat session to get to know each other. Then we start with a short vocal evaluation to see what your voice is doing. The exercises are chosen based purely on what your individual voice needs. As a result, many students see very fast results with this technique. We have two options available for private lesson study: Casual Singer's Package Thirty-Minute lessons, scheduled Once per week $140 a month Perfect for the person who loves to sing but doesn't do it professionally. Casual singers do it for the love and enjoyment and just want to get better. The casual singer doesn't typically perform live on a regular basis, does not do a lot of lead vocals and may only sing once a week at church in the choir, for example. The casual singer is usually not persuing singing as a career. The casual Singer's Package gives you a good solid foundation of proper technique and basic knowledge of how the voice work. This option is also great for beginners who may have problems with pitch. Professional Singer's Package One Hour lessons, Once per week $240 a month Perfect for the serious vocalist, this package caters to singers who are performing on a regular basis and are often asked to do lead vocals. Professional singers are often participating in one or more groups, have projects out or in the works, and are typically persuing singing as a career. The Professional Singer's package gives the serious vocalist a solid foundation of proper technique plus more extensive study of real-world application using songs they sing regularly. This package is also great for the casual singer who is ready to take it to the next level! Ala Cart Lessons Half Hour Lesson.................$45 1 Hour Lesson......................$75 Perfect for people who don't want to start a full program. This includes people who are too busy for weekly lessons, professionals who only need a refresher now and then or people who simply want to try it out before commiting to one of the packages. All students not able to come to lessons once a week must take their lesson at the Ala Cart rates. Group Sessions Group sessions have a one hour minimum, so you must choose either the Professional Singer's Package or the one hour Ala Cart lessons. The location depends on the size of the group. If you have a 3 or 4 member ensemble, for example, you will most likely be asked to come to my home studio. If you have a large group like a choir, the session can be done at your regular rehearsal space (i.e your church). Because of the unique situation this poses, with travel being involved and the loss of studio revenue from my absence, sessions involving groups too large to train at my home studio will be charged at a higher rate. Depending on the location, travel fees may also be included. Workshops For Gospel Choirs Having been a teacher of Gospel choir songs for over 25 years, Gospel Choir is near and dear to my heart. I offer workshops for choirs wanting to take their ministry to the next level or simply need help preparing for a big event. Workshops can be tailored to your choir's individual needs, but typically last a day. They include a 2 hour seminar and a few hours set aside for private lessons for any choir members wanting to take them. Workshops are typically charged a ”package rate”.
